Progression of urinary protein excretion after kidney transplantation: A marker for poor long-term prognosis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction: Post-transplantation proteinuria is a risk factor for graft failure. A progressive decline in renal graft function is a predictor for mortality in kidney transplant patients. Objectives: To assess the development and the progression of urinary protein excretion (UPE) in the first year post-transplant in recipients of kidney transplants and its effect on patient and graft outcomes. Materials and methods: We analysed 1815 patients with 24-h UPE measurements available at 3 and 12 months post-transplant. Patients were divided based on their UPE level: below 300 mg, 300–1000 mg and over 1000 mg (at 3 and 12 months), and changes over time were

متن کاملLong term effects of kidney donation on blood pressure and kidney function of donors
Introduction: Kidney transplantation from a live donor has many advantages, but the donor should undergo a major surgery and accept potential morbidity and mortality. In this study, we evaluated the long term effects of nephrectomy on renal function and blood pressure of kidney donors. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we assessed 195 kidney donors. The controls were 100 healthy individu...

Background and Objective: Post-transplant diabetes mellitus (PTDM) is one of the problems occurring after kidney transplantation. This study was designed to detect the probable relationship between the glucose intolerance and serum and urinary concentrations of β2-microglobulin as well as their value to predict acute rejection of the transplant. Materials and Methods: In this cohort study, 40 p...
متن کاملThe role of myocardial perfusion SPECT in short-term cardiac prognosis of end-stage renal disease
Introduction: One of the most important causes of death in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and even after kidney transplantation is cardiovascular diseases. Thus, cardiac evaluation is of utmost importance in the management of these patients especially during preoperative work up before renal transplantation. The aim of present study is to evaluate the role of myoc...
متن کاملPrevalence of Bacterial Urinary Tract Infections in Patients before and after of Kidney Transplantation
Abstract Background and Objective: Urinary tract infections and bacteremia are the major problems in renal transplant patients, which are mostly due to immunesuppressive regimens, surgery, and exposure to the germs in hospital. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of bacterial agents in the blood and urine samples of kidney transplant candidates. Material and Methods: In t...
